One of the last heat waves of the summer is upon us, so getting all sweaty with a cocktail shaker just isn’t in the cards. Instead, we decided to cool down with one of our favourite, easy summertime drinks; the Bicicletta cocktail.
The Bicicletta (Italian for bicycle) is an quick, refreshing drink made of equal parts white wine and Campari, with an added splash of club soda. We recommend using a dry white, such as Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio, as they balance nicely with the Campari’s bitterness.
Campari, for those of you who don’t know (shame on you if you don’t) is an extremely versatile and deliciously bitter Italian digestif. If you don’t believe me, just ask our very own Sebastian Ortega, who wrote a great intro to this liqueur.
2 oz dry white wine
2 oz Campari
Pour the wine and Campari in a wine glass over ice and stir to combine the ingredients. Top with club soda and add a lemon twist to garnish.
This summer delight will take you on a refreshing ride. Be sure to stock up for the last few summer get-togethers!
