Baby it’s cold outside, so maybe I’ll just pour half a drink more and you can have it before you go?
A small controversy around holiday music playing itself out around North America recently had me thinking about how we could all probably benefit from taking ourselves a bit less seriously. This cocktail certainly wasn’t named after any songs from the 40’s, but nothing lets you shake off the craziness of the day like a well-made cocktail, especially when it’s so cold outside.
Say, what’s in this drink?
1 oz. Meukow Cognac VS
1 ½ oz. Amaro Nonino
1 oz Martini Bianco
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Garnish: Orange Twist
Add ingredients to an ice-filled stirring glass and stir well. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with an orange twist.
This cocktail is pitch-perfect for the season. You’ll find hints of caramel, cinnamon, and even chocolate from the cognac and amaro. Perfect to sip while you listen to the fireplace roar.
Did we mention that Lexington is now open and they happen to have amazing barbecue and fantastic cocktails? Modesty is overrated.
