Sunset Tonics

Let’s face it: the sun is setting on summer. August is over and the weather is changing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t squeeze out the last few bits of the season with some nostalgia for warmer days.

In this post, I thought I would keep it simple. Other than beer, what’s a simple summer drink for the patio? One of my favourites: a good old gin and tonic.

I did a couple variations of the gin and tonic last summer, so I figured I’d keep the tradition going. These are straightforward, simple recipes that anyone can make, but elevate the classic just enough to impress your guests.

Recipes

Strawberry & Sage Tonic

Add ingredients to a Collins glass and top with tonic water. Stir lightly and serve.

Peach & Lavender Tonic

Add ingredients to a Collins glass and top with tonic water. Stir lightly and serve.

With simple recipes like these, having quality ingredients becomes very important. Tanqueray No. 10 Gin contains bright and crisp citrus flavours that pair exceptionally well with tonic water. And because the tonic itself is such a big part of the drink, choosing a quality brand like Fentimans elevates it that much more.

The ingredients I chose are just some of the flavours that remind me of summer. Experiment with what you have left in your garden and enjoy!

The sun is setting, so get to it!
