The Holidays are one of the busiest times of the year. Shopping, visiting family and friends, and indulging in food and drink take up a lot of time. Many of us hardly have time to keep up with it all, let alone coming up with an intricate holiday cocktail to serve our guests.
Enter the wine spritzer. It’s simple, quick, and adaptable to any time of year – especially Christmas.
With that in mind, here’s a simple recipe that should delight your family and friends while keeping your stress to a minimum.
- 2 oz Pinot Grigio
- ½ oz Lillet Blanc
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Club soda
- Garnish: apple slices, rosemary, and cranberries
In a wine glass, add ice, wine, Lillet Blanc and club soda. Garnish with red apple slices, cranberries, and a sprig of rosemary.
The fruitiness of the Lillet pairs well with the dryness of the Pinot Grigio. The addition of seasonal ingredients like apple and rosemary gives it a nice holiday punch. Although simple, the presentation and colours should be more than enough to impress your guests.
Cookies and milk are great and all, but this year, why not leave Santa a glass of this out instead? He could probably use a bit of a pick-me-up during the long night.
We all can, for that matter.
